An Intentional Routine

A constant struggle for me in my Christian walk has been keeping a consistent time each day to spend in the Word and prayer.  I was really encouraged to read of this ladies club designed specifically for the purpose of exhorting one another to be persistent in rising early to meet with the Lord.  I have enjoyed reading the weekly updates posted by women sharing their real triumphs and struggles in their commitment to meet with the Lord first thing in the morning.  I hope that this will be as much of an encouragement to you as it has been to me. Taste and See!

“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning – great is your faithfulness! ‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘therefore I will hope in Him.’ The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.” This was the focus of our meditation during worship on Sunday, and it is now the praise of our hearts – Great is your faithfulness! God has once again shown his covenant love and faithfulness to his children, and it looks like Redeemer Community is going to get a building!

The meeting went incredibly well. God indeed was kind to us, and we have a green light and the support from the committees and agencies overseeing urban development. The meeting started with the comment, “This area does not need a church wasting space.” And it ended with the comment, “This area could really use a church to help revitalize things.” By the time we were leaving, those present were actually encouraging us and offering to help us as we look to rework the space for our church and ministry. Indeed the Lord heard the prayers of his children and granted the desires of the heart. What a blessing to know that the body of Christ was praying for us!

We still have a few steps to take with parking and occupancy issues, but it seems that God has opened the door for us. We would continue to covet your prayers over the next days. Thank you for your prayers and all praise to the King!

Pray for Us

Tomorrow (Teus, Jan. 13) at 10:00am, Adam, Thresa, and I are meeting with the Bloomfield Garfield Corporation to discuss the opportunity of leasing 5152 Penn Ave. It would be a great facility for Redeemer Community, and we are asking God to kindly work for us according to his sovereign will. Many details have already been worked out, but this meeting is the big one to see if they will allow a church to meet on the Avenue. Truly we believe that the Lord is in the heavens and does all that He pleases. Might God be pleased to give Redeemer a building for the sake of His glorious name.
