Taste and See!

“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning – great is your faithfulness! ‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘therefore I will hope in Him.’ The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.” This was the focus of our meditation during worship on Sunday, and it is now the praise of our hearts – Great is your faithfulness! God has once again shown his covenant love and faithfulness to his children, and it looks like Redeemer Community is going to get a building!

The meeting went incredibly well. God indeed was kind to us, and we have a green light and the support from the committees and agencies overseeing urban development. The meeting started with the comment, “This area does not need a church wasting space.” And it ended with the comment, “This area could really use a church to help revitalize things.” By the time we were leaving, those present were actually encouraging us and offering to help us as we look to rework the space for our church and ministry. Indeed the Lord heard the prayers of his children and granted the desires of the heart. What a blessing to know that the body of Christ was praying for us!

We still have a few steps to take with parking and occupancy issues, but it seems that God has opened the door for us. We would continue to covet your prayers over the next days. Thank you for your prayers and all praise to the King!

  13. Any news on the parking and occupancy issues? How should we be praying for these things?

  14. [...] Our prayer for both was complete clarity about His will, and definitely have had an answer about our house. For more fun about the church building, check out this blog post. [...]

    Minda -
Hey! We did get approved for six parking spaces which gets us in the building. The rest of the parking issues we will attack later. Right now, we are working with an architect to see what the real cost will be to reset the space and to bring it to code for an assembly. Progress is being made . . . it is just expensive. We are working with all involved to make it work, so that every party benefits and we don’t go broke.

What is the word on the house exactly? It seems that God may have answered our prayers differently than we expected. We will continue to pray for God’s will and what is best for you all.

  17. rejoicing with you and continuing to pray…
